Director - Dr. Fritz Cropp

Fritz Cropp, Ph.D., directs a diverse array of international programs at the Missouri School of Journalism, where he also is an associate professor of advertising. He has managed several large grants from the U.S. Department of State aimed at building journalism education programs around the world, including the Bringing the Missouri Method to Moscow State University and the Giving Voice to Democracy: Building a Graduate Journalism Program in Moldova programs.
As Director of International Programs at the Missouri School of Journalism, Cropp manages an operation that includes 22 study abroad destinations for students, an extensive program in China and offices in Brussels, Buenos Aires and Washington, D.C. He currently oversees an international operation with an annual operating budget of $1.5 million. Cropp works with graduate students from more than 25 countries. He has developed and implemented a variety of short-term training programs for journalists and educators, both in their native countries and at the School. Cropp oversees academic programs for more than 20 visiting professionals and scholars on an annual basis.

Senior Fellow - Dr. James K. Scott

James K. Scott, Ph.D., is Associate Vice-Provost for International Initiatives, and Director of the International Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia. The International Center serves all international students and scholars, assures compliance with related federal regulations, manages study abroad programs, and fosters emerging campus international initiatives. Prior to this assignment, Dr. Scott served as Director of the University of Missouri's European Union Center, funded by the European Commission. Since its inception in 1998, the EU Center has hosted over thirty Trans-Atlantic policy conferences and workshops, hosted over 100 visiting scholars and policy makers from EU Member States, and sponsored over thirty research fellowships for MU faculty and students focused on European studies. He currently serves as Senior Fellow for the MU Transatlantic Center.
Brussels Program Director - Gareth Harding

Gareth Harding is the director of the Missouri School of Journalism's Brussels Program, which the School launched in January 2008. He is a Brussels-based freelance journalist with more than a decade of experience writing about the European Union and European politics. Before that, he worked as a speech writer and political advisor in the British and European Parliaments. He has written for Time Magazine, United Press International, The Washington Times, The Wall Street Journal and many other outlets. Harding has been a tutor at the European Journalism Centre for nine years and is also a documentary filmmaker and media trainer.
